Beckville's Williams Scores Twice in Texas Tech's Win Over Houston

The No. 11 Texas Tech Red Raiders delivered a resounding 35-11 win over the Houston Cougars on Saturday night, fueled by a breakout game from sophomore running back J'Koby Williams.

Williams, a former Beckville Bearcat, rushed for 107 yards on 19 carries and scored two touchdowns, marking his first-ever multi-touchdown game.

Quarterback Behren Morton jumpstarted the Red Raiders’ offense early, linking up with Cameron Dickey for a 69-yard touchdown that extended the first-quarter lead.

Linebacker Jacob Rodriguez created a critical turnover in the second quarter, leading to another Williams touchdown.

Williams iced the game in the fourth quarter with a short scoring run, sealing the Red Raiders’ fifth-straight victory.

Texas Tech is now 5-0 for the first time since 2013, outscoring opponents 243-56 this season. Next up, they host the Kansas Jayhawks on October 11.
